Laurence Bodson, French teacher since 2015

In what type of school did I teach?
I taught in the public as well as in the private sector, in person and online. I taught in an international school as well as in a kindergarten and a primary school but also in public schools, at the French institute and other language schools and in a vocational education center.
What audience did I teach to?
Since I taught in different type of schools and settings, I always had a wide range of audiences. Indeed I taught French to people aged 5 to 59. I therefore feel comfortable with people of all ages and of any culture.
“Teaching a language is like offering a journey. Learning it means starting it.”
I have lived in 10 countries! Oh really?

Keen on cycling, I often go for long bike tours.
I am multilingual, regularly brushing up my knowledge and learning new ones.

In love with travelling, I have already visited 73 countries. I am also fond of buying local or traditional clothes.
I have two different degrees (business administration and teaching French) and I love learning and making trainings in my field.

What languages do I speak?
Keen on travelling, I have lived and traveled in many countries which enabled me to greatly improve my foreign language skills. I am fluent in English and in Spanish. Since I lived a few years in Austria and I currently live in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, I am proficient in German. Besides, thanks to my intensive courses in Polish and my professional experience in Turkey, I get by in Turkish and Polish.
Since I have taught in an international school in Azerbaijan during three years, I learnt some Azerbaijani as well as some Russian. Besides, through my knowledge in Spanish, I understand a lot and speak a little bit of Italian and Portuguese (I actually lived in Lisbon for a few months where I taught myself Portuguese). For a long time now I have been going to Georgia on a regular basis and I learnt some Georgian as well.

How would I describe myself?
With a multicultural mind, a traveler’s soul, a love for nature and a passion for other cultures and languages, I am a lifelong learner.
How do I teach French?
I design my own resources and lessons not only based on my teaching experience, neurosciences and learner ‘needs and wishes but also based on my own experience while learning a foreign language.

What is my goal?
I am helping you learning French in an authentic way using almost only French during the lesson and encouraging you to speak it as much as possible; by summarizing a concept or explaining a word.
What is my method?
My way of teaching is unusual, dynamic and fun. My travels in other French-speaking countries, namely in Africa, are an asset that I use in my teaching, e.g. including personalized cultural information, to make the lesson different, informative and interesting. Furthermore I make the content of your course taking into account the news, to initiate a debate or to practice the grammar.
